CNN profiles Nomex® and a Formula 1™ racing suit
Being approached by CNN, an internationally renowned television network, requesting to profile Nomex® and a Formula 1™ racing suit, is an extraordinary example of the power of the Nomex® brand.
On November 10, a film crew from CNN visited the DuPont Innovation Center in Meyrin, Switzerland, to film an interview with EMEA business leader Jean-Michel Gauthier, which included a demonstration of the DuPont™ Thermo-Man® testing unit, for The Circuit, CNN’s monthly 30-minute Formula 1™ show. The demonstration was a burn test of a Formula 1™ garment made with Nomex® in comparison to a burn of a flame-resistant cotton garment.
The results were visually impressive and confirm why, for more than 40 years, DuPont™ Nomex® brand fiber has been an industry leader in providing lightweight, comfortable thermal protection against the ever-present danger of flash fires at the racetrack, protecting the majority of racing teams around the world.
