Acting on Climate

Globally, society is not yet on a path to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, and we are running out of time. The building and construction industry accounts for nearly 40 percent of the world’s carbon emissions, and the manufacturing of building materials accounts for 11 percent of global carbon emissions. As part of the global solution to address climate change, the building industry must achieve carbon neutrality and deliver solutions focused on climate resiliency.

We believe that all buildings play a critical role in helping mitigate and adapt to climate change — a real and rapidly growing threat to society and the planet.

2030 Goal

We will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from DuPont Performance Building Solutions and Corian® Design operations by 75% from 2019 levels.

How We're Getting Started

The ultimate Energy Efficiency Solution

One action out of the EU Green Deal plan is the Renovation wave. Today the annual renovation rate of the building stock varies from 0.4 to 1.2% in the Member States. This rate will need at least to double to reach the EU’s energy efficiency and climate objectives.

Currently, roughly 75% of the building stock is energy inefficient, yet almost 85-95% of today’s buildings will still be in use in 2050. While increasing renovation rates is a challenge, renovation lowers energy bills, and can reduce energy poverty. DuPont™ Tyvek® and AirGuard® offers the ultimate energy efficiency solution. For superior performance and reliability, Tyvek® is the name you can trust. At the heart of building solutions for decades and with a global network. Tyvek® and AirGuard® - your guarantee of unbeatable energy efficiency.

DuPont® Froth-Pak™ HC Mini with low global warming potential (GWP)

Froth Pak HC Mini is a handy kit consisting of 2 cans (component A and B), an applicator and nozzles.

Froth Pak HC Mini is used in window & door applications where a high product strength is required e.g. below terrace doors or to reliably fix interior doors.

In comparison to competitive products (1,5 CPU foam cans) the amount of waste can be reduced by at least 2/3, a step into the right direction.

The product provides great thermal insulating and acoustic properties, and now delivered with a new formulation, in addition a reduced GWP.

This new formulation contributes to our 2030 targets for reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while maintaining the extraordinary material performance.
