Hands on training at the DuPont™️ Tyvek®️ training centre

In October 2022, DuPont™ Performance Building Solutions welcomed staff from Encon Insulation at CoRE (Centre of Roofing Excellence) in Hereford for both theory and hands-on training with Tyvek® and AirGuard® membranes and the range of accessories for water resistance, air tightness and fire protection.

The morning covered areas such as Approved Documents C & L, BS5250 – Management of moisture in buildings and BS5534:2014 + A2 2018 and the afternoon included the practical aspect of applying Tyvek® Supro to pitched roofs. Tomasz Kwiatkowski, Encon National Sales Director – Brick and Cladding Facades Director commented “We deal with Tyvek® enquiries every day but it is incredibly useful actually putting the theory to test by applying the Tyvek® Supro onto roofs in realistic scenarios. The afternoon session was also very important as a great deal of our business relates to fire protection, both internal and external, with fire rated breather membranes and AVCL’s. The explanation of how both Tyvek® FireCurb® and AirGuard® A2FR work in conjunction with sheathing boards, internal linings and different insulation products was especially informative. We also tried the FlexWrap EZ challenge! This is a really useful product which can be used on penetrations of all types and sizes to create water and airtight seals. All you need to do is cut it to length and there is no wastage.”
