BBA Certificate adds to the credentials for Tyvek® UV Facade


DuPont™ Tyvek® UV Facade has now been awarded an Agrément Certificate by the BBA (British Board of  Agrément) for use in timber-frame wall construction and as a weather-resistant layer behind rain-screen cladding with open joints.

The Certificate covers factors relating to compliance with Building Regulations, additional non-regulatory information, independently verified technical specification and assessment criteria, design considerations, installation guidance, regular surveillance of production and a formal three-yearly review. The key factors assessed were: Weathertightness, Risk of condensation, Strength and Durability — protective qualities for which all DuPont™ Tyvek® breather membranes are renowned.

To obtain the CE marking for open cladding use, the membrane has to resist an artificial aging process by permanent UV radiation of 5000 hours (for a standard wall/roof application it is 336 hours).
