Heralding a new era of disposable chemical protective garments. Offering extreme breathability with equivalent durability and performance, Tyvek® APX™ innovative material is set to revolutionize the way you experience comfort and safety in the workplace. Are you ready for the next revolution?
This new era is defined by a single focus: improving wearability to maximize worker safety. At the heart of this innovation is a breakthrough in breathability. For the first time, workers can experience the ultimate combination of protection and comfort. With Tyvek® APX™ protective coveralls, they can stay safe while performing at their best, even in the most demanding environments.
As we look to the future, our mission remains the same: to protect millions of end-users across a wide range of applications. Now, we are raising the bar even further. The new era of Tyvek® garments represents a new benchmark in the world of chemical protection, setting our new standards for performance and well-being at work
This is more than just a product launch – it’s a game-changer. It’s the result of years of scientific research, customer collaboration, and a relentless commitment to excellence. By listening to our customers, observing their daily challenges, and applying cutting-edge science, we’ve created a solution that addresses one of the most problematic health and safety challenges of the 21st century – how to make garments more breathable without sacrificing performance or durability.
It’s crucial to ensure that workers can perform at their best. This involves not only keeping them safe but also ensuring they feel comfortable. Globally, regulatory bodies and health experts are recognising this link by placing more emphasis on worker well-being. The difficulty is that comfort can mean different things to different people.
Comfort, for new Tyvek® APX™, means enhancing worker well-being by reducing the risk of suffering from heat build-up while wearing essential protective garments. This is a significant challenge because protective garment design has traditionally involved sacrificing some comfort to ensure the required protection and durability. It’s time to change this paradigm.
We’ve taken the comfort challenge right back to the heart of our Tyvek® fabric. We have developed a new type of Tyvek® fabric that is extremely breathable, allowing enhanced moisture evaporation and improved air circulation. These properties have been scientifically validated by independent laboratories, including Empa (the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology). Additionally, collaboration with wearable device leaders, such as Epicore Biosystems, has provided further assessment of performance in application, and customer trials have been conducted to evaluate user experience.
Comfort is a science. Comfort is Tyvek® APX™
The next generation of Tyvek® PPE redefines comfort without compromising the levels of protection and durability you rely on. With cutting-edge breathable fabric technology, we’re taking wearability to unprecedented heights, helping to ensure you stay safe and comfortable, even in harsh conditions.
An independent physiological study by Empa examined the effects of a more breathable fabric on physical strain experienced by the human body. The research assessed physiological changes in workers wearing both standard Tyvek® protective garments and Tyvek® APX™ coveralls under varied environmental conditions and activity levels.
Independent testing proved we had the science right, but we also wanted to find out how our customers would react to our new Tyvek® garment through extensive wear trials. More than 290 people took part, across different regions and applications. The garments were tested in extremes of temperature and humidity, and from low work intensity to high levels of activity. Some participants commented that Tyvek® APX™ coverall feels more like casual clothing than a protective garment.
Overall, wearers noticed and appreciated the high-breathability of Tyvek® APX™, and even more in extreme conditions. Some participants commented that Tyvek® APX™commented that Tyvek® APX™ coverall feels more like casual clothing than a protective garment.
Achieving a genuine step-change in chemical protection garments involves many people inside and outside DuPont. Meet two external companies who support our vision to continuously improve worker well-being.
