Typar® functions: Separation and stabilisation

Separation = preventing from intermixing of adjacent dissimilar soils and/or fill materials by the use of geosynthetics. As defined by European standards, the separation function is always used in conjunction with another function.

DuPont™ Typar® SF is an isotropic material, meaning that its physical properties are present in all directions. This mirrors the stresses and strains of a typical separation application.

DuPont™ Typar® SF

  • Increases the bearing capacity by preventing the loss of aggregate into soft subgrade
  • Increases the compaction degree

  • Reduces the deterioration of roads through frost heave effects

  • Eradicates the need to remove weak subgrade

  • Maintains the drainage capacity of the aggregate base

  • Prevents migration of fine particles

  • Reduces deformations (rutting)

  • Ensures longer lifetime of construction
