U.S.A.

In April 2020, we offered employees in the US and Puerto Rico the opportunity to take part in the “Great Escapes" Destination Walking Challenge through the Healthy Living Program. This team walking challenge enables participants to virtually walk to 25 destinations around the world. The two-month challenge was a great success, with over 2,200 employees taking 1.2 million steps. The average steps per day per participant was 11,000 steps, well above the daily target.

Our Integrated Health Services team coordinated with our US wellness platform provider, Virgin Pulse, to offer an expanded suite of stress management, mental wellness and personal development resources to employees in the US and Puerto Rico. Throughout April and May in 2020, we made new webinars, training videos, multi-week wellness programs, online courses and reading materials available to help employees cope with the early days of quarantine. The programs focused on improving mental resilience, increasing physical activity, enhancing financial literacy, and information on healthy eating.

Spain

DuPont Spain sent a survey to all employees at our three sites in Spain to assess their needs and concerns during the quarantine to learn where to focus their efforts. The survey data showed that the top areas we needed to address interest were nutrition and weight management, sleep difficulties and ergonomics at home. Our Spain IHS teams issued recommendations on working safely from home, tips to prevent eyestrain, improve circulation in the legs, and avoid insomnia.

Our three sites in Spain had access to virtual stretching courses that emphasized balance, muscle strength, flexibility and range of motion using stretching aids created from household materials such as bottles, towels, and paper towel rolls. DuPont Spain also offered a series of ergonomic tips to take care of the back and spine during a change in work seating, especially as many home-bound employees increased the amount of domestic tasks they performed such as cleaning, home maintenance, watching television.

Taiwan

More than 70 employees from our Taipei and Dayuan sites took part in the 2020 Walk@Workday walking competition at the nearby Wujiutong Mountain Footpath. Five employees emerged as winners, walking more than 490 combined miles. Our Taipei and Dayuan sites also provided on-site physical check-ups and ergonomic consultation through the Month of Caring in August and provided free flu vaccinations to 40 employees.
