The fibre that reacts in a crisis
When exposed to extreme heat, Nomex® undergoes a special reaction, changing its properties to capture more energy in the fabric, and giving the wearer valuable extra seconds of protection from heat transfer.
Extra seconds of safety : Nomex® fibre helps provide extra seconds of safety due to the fibre thickening, which increases the insulation barrier. Visible proof: after a garment has protected its wearer correctly, it may self-sacrifice when it cools down. This is completely normal.
Heat stress protection : Nomex® fibre helps reduce heat stress due to higher air permeability both in new garments, and after washing. Air permeability is important to help the membrane “breathe” in order to reduce body heat.
Performance durability : Nomex® fibre is built to last, helping garments retain their heat and flame protection, mechanical strength and air permeability exceptionally well after being washed, exposed to sunlight or subjected to abrasion.
Lower wear-life costs : Nomex® fibre helps offer the budget-smart solution due to lower wearlife costs. The higher resistance to abrasion that Nomex® offers correlates directly with longer wear life, and lower repair and replacement costs.
