Optimizing energy efficiency in social housing project: Vitry Habitat (France)

Wassy_DuPont_Tyvek

In Wassy (France) housing association Vitry Habitat launched a social housing programme with the construction of 10 timber frame houses including some equipped with innovative combination of Tyvek® Reflex and DuPont™ AirGuard® Reflective.

The materials are designed to work together with traditional insulation products (polystyrene foam in the Wassy project) - to create an airtight building envelope, providing excellent protection against external weather conditions and internal thermal losses. The combination of Tyvek® Reflex and DuPont™ AirGuard® boosts the insulation performance and can save up to 15% of home energy costs. Thermal inertia was added to the buildings in Wassy with a green roof. This complete solution was designed by architectural office bcde Architecture, after an in-depth research on innovative building materials and the environment.
