A passive and innovative house, equipped with the membrane DuPont™ Tyvek® UV Facade protecting durably its wooden open jointed cladding: this is the concept of BEEdomus®, a wooden house with round shape, based on an environmental initiative and local solutions.

The circular facade of BEEdomus® is covered with an open jointed cladding made of maritime pine.  Behind this cladding, the advanced DuPont™ Tyvek® UV Facade membrane, naturally vapour open but water-tight, robust, resistant to UV damage and general wear and tear is used as rainscreen and UV protection, in order to assure and optimize an effective and long-lasting protection against the harmful effects of a whimsical weather.

“A system of open jointed cladding with openings between blades means that the protective membrane settled behind is exposed to UV and rain during all the life cycle of the house.  That is why we had to find a material able both to protect the performances of the long-term house and match our very high requirements of resistance." explains Serge Lochu, creator of the BEEdomus® concept (created in 2009).

Tyvek® UV Facade is conceived to protect the insulation and the structure behind the open jointed cladding in a long-lasting way and answers the standard IT THERE 13859-2. As all the membranes Tyvek®, it is extremely light, flexible and easy to install.

Serge Lochu knows membranes DuPont™ Tyvek® and their reliability in protection since 30 years. According to the model of house, 200 to 500 square meters are required.
