DuPont™ Corian® solid surface used in the interior design of the prestigious Triennale Design Museum in Milan
Most of the display elements of the new interiors of the ‘Serie Fuori Serie’ exhibition located within the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, one of the most prestigious design museums in the world, have been created using DuPont™ Corian® solid surface. The exhibition, designed by renowned architectural studio Antonio Citterio and Partners, celebrates Italian creativity, and features a variety of innovative products that have ear-marked Italian design throughout its history.
Large suspended walls made with DuPont™ Corian® solid surface, individually styled through carving, decorating and backlighting techniques, identify the different spaces and provide information about the exhibition. Outlining the exhibit’s pathway, small and medium sized design objects are displayed on special large tables made with Corian®. The frames of the TV/LCD screens placed around the exhibition are made entirely with Corian® solid surface as well.
Antonio Citterio and Partners architectural firm chose Corian® solid surface for this architectural installation because it enhances the overall visual effect of the exhibition. The production of the Corian® interior elements were executed by Italian company Andreoli (who specialises in the fabrication of DuPont™ Corian® solid surface) in collaboration with Donati Group. Doluflex® sheets used for the support of the suspended walls are made with Corian® solid surface.
